Music

Hey, I know I haven't been exactly busy blogging lately. But since Auke lost all my previous postings (:-P) I figured it would be a good time for a fresh start. Right now, there's tons of stuff I could probably talk about. I'm not much of blogger I guess. But recently I "discovered" a couple of amazingly good tracks I'm listening to frequently lately...

  • Coldplay - Fix you: You got to be kidding me .. that is probably the best track I've heard in YEARS. The lyrics are incredible:
    And the tears come streaming
    down your face
    When you lose something
    you cannot replace
    When you love someone
    but it goes to waste
    Could it be worse?

Yeah, I could've missed this song. Luckily, I downloaded one of their "recent" (2006, Toronto) concerts (damn, I missed them last year) and they played that particular song. Stunning.

  • The Eels - Feeling Good: Yeah I know, just another "Feeling Good" ripoff (Thanks Mr. Bublé!) .. but this one is particularly good. I love good piano playing. If you like this .. go and listen to 'Piano Man' by Billy Joel.
  • The Eels - Fresh Feeling: I heard this on 'Chuck' (NBC) the other day. Has a great touch to it. Apart from that Chuck is pretty good entertainment; well, if you're into illusions anyway .. its just about the millionth 'ungeeky-looking-geek-gets-good-looking-girl' story .. which he meets while repairing technical equipment for them .. and impresses them with his skills. Yeah right .. as if the world works like that.
  • Fastball - The Way: Man, what a song. I love it.

The sad thing is .. I cannot find Fastball in any record store I've been to. Not even online (well, I can .. but I won't pay up to 25 Euros just for a damn CD).

If you want to know about what I'm listening to stop by my last.fm website. It holds a pretty good set of music I'm listening to. However, I forget to turn on the scrobbler from time to time. Thats why there isn't that many tracks on it yet.

Well, thats it for now. I shall be back with more.

Cheers, Moritz

PS: Do I or do I not fall for Brian's way of doing smilies .. I'm undetermined right now ^_~
